The lowest cost residential broadband access option is Qwest DSL. It uses an existing phone line to your home and you install filters to keep the DSL signal from interfering with your telephones. Qwest bills you directly on your phone bill for the DSL line charges. SWCP bills you for the Internet access portion of the service. This service is available on a month-to-month basis.

You'll need to purchase or rent a router. The base router from Qwest is the Actiontec GT701-WG. It can be purchased for $59.99, or rented for $5/month from Qwest. SWCP also sells a compatible router for advanced routing needs. This is the BroadMax router which can be purchased for $90. Both routers have a one year warranty.
These connections will not include a static IP address, but one can be purchased if needed.
